persona
Alistair is fairly sociable, especially with as much time as he’s spent locked away. Being out and free and around people makes him feel more free. He does have nightmares often that he may end up locked away again or that he hasn’t really escaped and has just been dreaming this entire time. He also has a bit of claustrophobe from then. It makes it hard for him to ride in things like elevators. Getting stuck in a closet wouldn’t be good for him either.
Sometimes when he’s by himself, he’ll pinch or smack himself in the face just to remind himself that his freedom is real. Or at least that it feels real. He’s a dependable person if someone chooses to rely on him for something, he’ll do his best to make sure he does whatever he tells them to do.
But often he won’t rely on others the same way they rely on him. He’ll try to handle something himself, even if he knows it is better to rely on someone else to help him with it. He values his independence, so it can be difficult to get through to him that he can depend on others to help him out. He can be stubborn that way as well as single-minded. He can be unwilling to compromise, even if it would be to his advantage to do so.
He’s a pretty friendly person as well. He’s also loyal to those that he calls his friends. He’ll look after and protect them however he can if they need him to. He’s a strong, unwavering ally and a steadfast friend. And if it seems like someone is or will end up in a situation like the one he used to be in, he will go above and beyond to help them.
He’s got a nice sense of humor and can be fairly sarcastic when he wants to be. He’s mostly calm, but he can be riled up. Easily if he’s being teased and it really starts to annoy him.

story
history
Alistair doesn’t have many memories from when he was a child. He can only recall memories from when he was around thirteen years old and that is him being inside of a cold, sterile environment. It was a laboratory and to this day, he isn’t sure who ran the place. There was always countless experiments going on in the place and he himself was subject to some.
It wasn’t until he was fifteen that he tried to escape the place. He broke away from some guards that were transporting him somewhere and rushed into one of the laboratories. The guards opened fire with their non-lethal weapons and busted open a container with silvery liquid inside that splashed all over him.
The chase didn’t last much longer before he was subdued and thrown back into the place that was considered to be his room. Days later, he noticed a change in himself as he felt physically stronger. All the scars he had on his body began to fade away and he began feeling more energized.
Soon, he attempted an escape again, though this time he was able to do so much easier. Tossing people and breaking doors down felt like throwing and breaking through cardboard boxes. Freeing himself from his captors was trivial and soon, he fled far far away from the facility.
It took him sometime to really understand what happened to him and why he seemed to be capable of these new, incredible feats. The silvery liquid that splattered onto his body wasn’t liquid at all, but advanced nanomachines being developed in the laboratory. They fused and replicated in his body, weaving themselves within it to physically augment him.
His strength as well as what he can do with them has grown over the years as he’s lived with them.
He has mostly kept a low profile since his escape and has done nothing to try to draw attention to himself. He took on the job of a simple waiter in the city where he currently resides. It gives him a sense of normalcy to work such a mundane job.

abilities
All of his abilities come from the nanites within him. Unbeknownst to him when it happened, the main control nanite has been spilled on him and inhabited his body. Without this happening, none of his newfound abilities would be at all possible.
One of his main powers is Technopathy. Using his nanites, he can control machines and interface with or hack computers and other electronic devices with ease. He doesn’t have to physically be touching them to do so, though things with actual radio signals are easier to interface with. He can force cars to shut down or turn off power in specific locations, look through cameras or use phones as listening devices.
And because of the nanites integrated into his body, he has a greatly enhanced physical condition. He’s faster, stronger and more durable than any person is in addition to being more agile. And this can be enhanced to an even greater level if it needs to be. His body, if damaged, will also heal at an incredible rate. Near fatal injuries in a normal person can heal in minutes if not moments.
Additionally, with the way the nanites are in him, he has a form of photographic reflexes. Essentially he’s able to copy a physical activity if he views it once. He remembers it and can make his body move in the exact way needed to replicate it. Even if it's an activity that requires great physical strength, with his enhanced body he can easily achieve the strength necessary.
One of his last abilities is manifesting physical constructs with his nanites. As they replicate as necessary within him, he can use them to form objects. Such as swords, armor or other types of objects and weaponry if he needs to.
